Arts and crafts

The traditions of painting and handicraft have existed in Sunne for a long time. The landscape, the nature, and the clear colours have inspired both young and old to be creative. Make a tour through Fryksdalen and visit some of our artists and craftsmen. Paintings, pottery, glass, textile and sculptures are some of the things you can find in the studios. Most of the artists would like you to phone them first to let them know that you are coming.

Exhibitions
Exhibitions in unique environments, that's what Sunne has to offer. The Alma Löv Museum of experimental and non-experimental art in Smedsby. It consists of 12 newly built architecturally interesting pavilions. Art exhibitions are arranged in the Gallery Slottet during the whole year and every summer artists display their work in Sillegården, Västra Ämtervik. Why not visit Sven Schützer-Branzén's art gallery in Krokbäcken, Sundbergs Gård art gallery or some of the homecraft museums. A visit to the recycling house at Södra Viken is an alternative. Here one can find new solutions in sound building techniques, different types of material, ecological water purification, bio- fuels, solar heating, composting, waste separation and water utilisation etc.
