Literature in Sunne

Both Selma Lagerlöf and Göran Tunström have used people and places from the Sunne area in their books. People come here to see these places in real life, e.g. Sunne church, the setting for Tunström's novel Juloratoriet, or Rottneros, which is Ekeby in Selma Lagerlöf's book "Gösta Berling's Saga ".

One has to see the historical estate of Mårbacka - Selma Lagerlöf's home. The house looks exactly the same as it did when the Nobel prize winner lived and worked here. Other places that are connected with "Gösta Berling's Saga " is Sundsberg Manor (Björne). Tossebergsklätten (Gurlita Klätt), Östra Ämtervik Church (Svartsjö).
