From Sunne take the road no. 45. Turn left to Berga and drive to the right in direction to the way to Gräsmark. You follow this road a little while to the west. At the busstation ”Gunnerud” turn right and than drive to the left on the little road. Here the way is very rocky so you may have to push your bike. Turn left at a T-crossing. After 600 meters turn right and pass the old stonebridge at the outlet of the river Lerälven.


After 10 km you arrive at Södra Viken. Feel welcome to take a refreshing dip in lake Lersjön. Here a forestry school is situated. Drive over the parking place, turn right and after a short bit left. Along the road between Södra Viken and Gettjärn you will pass a couple of log cottages. Copies of those used by loggers early in the last century. 500 metres further away is a mound on the left side of the road. According to a legend this is a grave of cholera victims. Now this place is a beautiful picnic place.


Passing Gettjärn the road turns north-wards. To the left you see Gettjärnsklätten, with a height of 308 metres above sea level. It offers a magnificent view. Parts of the area is a nature reserve due to its unique flora and fauna. For example you can find mezeron, hazel, lind, elm and ash. After a couple of kilometers you will pass the start of the hiking trail up to Gettjärnsklätten. The view is worth the hike. The next 7 kilometers to Gräsmark offer a variety of natural impressions with high hills on both sides of the road and a rich animal life. There are elks, deer and cougar, so be careful and keep your eyes open.

 
 
After a downhill run towards lake Rottnen turn left and drive to the asphalt road. Take this road to the right to Gräsmark. Than you will reach Uddeheden. To the right side lies Gräsmark church, built by Swedes and Finns, finished 1738. It has interesting ceiling paintings and other decorations. Open for visit. Possibilities for a cooling swim in Lillsjön and Trötvik.
 
After another 10 kilometers of biking along Rottna valley the path turns to the right and goes uphills. At a T-crossing turn right. The way passes through a variable landscape. Keep your eyes open for bears and beaver. You can swim at the northern end of lake Flatsjö.
The path goes through the village Höjen, joins the road nr. 45 and turns south passing Länsmansgården. The last part of the way follows the old road to Sunne, passes Hembygdsgården and then down to lake Fryken.
